Rhinos are frequently spotted in various national parks and wildlife reserves across Africa.

In Kenya, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located in Laikipia County, stands out as one of the most successful rhino conservation areas, housing a significant population of both black and white rhinoceroses. During our visit, we observed the highest number of rhinos in this conservancy.

The white rhinoceros is known for its wide mouth and gentle disposition, while the black rhinoceros features a pointed upper lip and often exhibits a more aggressive nature. Both species are herbivores, primarily feeding on grasses and shrubs. However, rhinos face constant threats from poaching, driven by the demand for their horns in the illegal wildlife trade. Their populations are further endangered by habitat loss and poaching pressures.
