South Africa, September 30-October 3, 2012 南非, 2012 年 9 月 30 日至 10 月 3 日

The trip was part of my plan to attend an professional international conference in Cape town, South Africa. The three main places I visited were Cape Town, Cape point /Cape good hope (same route), and Kruger National Park.

Cape town

Cape Town is one of South Africa’s three capital cities, serving as the seat of the Parliament of South Africa. It is the legislative capital of the country, along with judicial capital Bloemfontein  and administrative capital Pretoria. It is the oldest and second largest city in the country, after Johannesburg. Cape Town is perhaps most famously known for being home to the South African president, Nelson Mandela. It is a colorful hub of history, culture, music and flavor.

South Africa, although far away, is easy to reach for its nature beauties and magical land.

南非之行是我去南非开普登参加专业国际会议的顺道而为。 我参观的三个主要地方是开普敦、开普角和好望角（同一路线）和克鲁格国家公园。

开普登

开普敦是南非的三个首都城市之一，是南非议会的所在地。 它是该国的立法首都 (司法首都为布隆方丹和行政首都为比勒陀利亚)。开普敦是该国仅次于约翰内斯堡的最古老和第二大城市。开普敦最著名的可能是南非总统纳尔逊·曼德拉的故乡。 它是历史、文化、音乐和多彩风格的中心。

辽远, 但触手可及的地方，一方美丽， 一方神奇。

Cape Point is a promontory at the southeast corner of the Cape Peninsula, a mountainous and scenic landform that runs north-south for about thirty kilometres at the extreme southwestern tip of the African continent in South Africa. Wikipedia

The Cape of Good Hope is a rocky headland on the Atlantic coast of the Cape Peninsula in South Africa. A common misconception is that the Cape of Good Hope is the southern tip of Africa, based on the misbelief that the Cape was the dividing point between the Atlantic and Indian oceans. In fact, the southernmost point of Africa is Cape Agullhas about 150 kilometres (90 mi) to the east-southeast. The currents of the two oceans meet at the point where the warm-water Agullhas current meets the cold-water Benguela current and turns back on itself. Wikipedia

好望角是南非开普半岛大西洋沿岸的一个岩石岬角。因为人们误认为好望角是非洲的南端， 就觉得好望角是大西洋和印度洋的分界点， 其实是个误解。事实上，非洲的最南端是厄加勒斯角，距东南偏东约 150 公里（90 英里）。 两个大洋的洋流在温水厄加勒斯洋流与冷水本格拉洋流汇合处汇合并自行返回。Wikipedia

Kruger National Park, in northeastern South Africa, is one of Africa’s largest game reserves. Its high density of wild animals includes the Big 5: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos. Hundreds of other mammals make their home here, as do diverse bird species such as vultures, eagles and storks. Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape (Google).

克鲁格国家公园位于南非东北部，是非洲最大的野生动物保护区之一。其高密度的野生动物包括五巨头：狮子、豹子、犀牛、大象和水牛。数百种其他哺乳动物以及秃鹰、鹰和鹳等多种鸟类在这里安家。山脉、灌木平原和热带森林都是景观的一部分 。
